Expert Advice For Your Best Shampoo

Today we’re going deeper than the typical “lather, rinse repeat” advice. Cleaning your hair is important and has to be done with the upmost care. In this blog I’ll be walking you through the right way to clean your hair.

Using shampoo on the roots and scalp is best, too much shampoo on the ends can dry out the ends of hair. Hot water can strip the hair of essential oil, which can lead to tangled hair. Even if hot water seems heavenly, lukewarm water is the safest bet. 5-10 seconds of cold water will close the pores. I am obsessed with using coconut oil or even a little olive oil to moisturize your freshly shampooed hair.

Changing shampoo every other time you shower is a fantastic way to shock your hair and the benefit of that is hair that is bouncy and fresh! Using shampoo 2 times a week will keep your hair’s natural oils healthy which will help your color to last longer.

Now we’re on to conditioner, the best way to use a conditioner is to apply it just before hopping into the shower and before you shampoo your hair. Aside from how you wash, you also need to be keeping track of how long you’re taking in the shower. Long showers can do more harm than good, keep your shower time down to a minimum. Experts say that showers that last for more than 10 minutes usually wash away essential oils from the hair.

Treat your hair kindly when you are drying it. Rubbing it dry is hurting the condition of the hair and  tangles it as well. Pat it drie or wrap a towel around it for a few minutes, then comb it with your fingers moving the hair around to get air dry before you get the blow dryer out. I like getting a new hair dryer once a year, they wear out and a new one will have more power which is less time blowing and damaging your hair.
